A sharp division has emerged at the  African Independent Pentecostal  Church of Africa (AIPCA)church , Ndia  diocese leading to a  walk out by a splinter  group  after an alleged attack in the church by hired goons .

And the splinter group yesterday worshiped at the St Florence -Gitonguini   church which is in Mutitu   Deanery , Kirinyaga Central   after it was cleansed  by Bishop  Kibugi  on the orders of the sect Head .

The Cleric had been sent to the church by the sect Head Archbishop Dr  Francis Wamugunda  after a series of attacks by the said goons at Kamuiru  and Gitonguini churches.

Yesterday  the worshipers claimed their Bishop  Joseph Kinyua Wambiru  had abdicated his Clerical  duties and concentrated  in  planning attacks to Christians who were  opposed to his dictatorial leadership.

The   worshipers claimed   they had suffered bot spiritually and bodily due to lack of the right and proper leadership  under the said  Cleric .

Led by their chairman Peter Mbogo said they  will continue to affiliate themselves with Mutitu  Deanery until the  church   leadership resolved the matter by creating their own diocese.

“This move has been  provoked  by the fact that we as congregants have reached a dead end and the only safety valve  is to split from Ndia Diocese so that we can  forge ahead without any further hindrances,”Mbogo told the media on Sunday  afternoon .

Mbogo claimed the said Bishop they were opposed to would come to church and on attempting to install new leadership to the congregants , the worshipers would murmur resulting to attacks by the alleged hired  goons.

The Deanery comprises  of Muitu and  Kaitheri  Parishes  and which now the splinter group is seeking to  become a Diocese  under a new leader.

Women league chairperson , Rose Mworia said the splinter congregants were ready to start  setting up their new  diocese once sanctioned   by the church Head .

Among those who defected from the Wambiru led see were Mbogo, the Treasurer  and Ms Mworia.
