Through its Chairman Archbishop Dr Daniel Njagi , the Forum alleged its team was keenly monitoring the elections process and its findings were that Ngirici had won and not Waiguru .
At a hastily convened press conference at the Star Wood hotel , Kerugoya this morning , the Forum said it was encouraging Ngirici to seek for legal redress given the elections were allegedly not free and fair .
“Ngirici won in Ndia, Mwea , Gichugu and only lost in Kirinyaga Central with a small margin and it’s along these lines that we strongly believe she has every reason to go to court and seek for justice of which we are sure will be served quickly ,”the Cleric said.
Waiguru was declared the winner after she garnered a total 113 088 of votes against Ngirici’s 105,677 .
But moments after this declaration by the area IEBC Manager Jane Gitonga , Ngirici raised a red flag and said she was intending to go to court as what was announced did not reflect the wishes of the electorate .
Yesterday while attending a Sunday Service at the St Thomas Cathedral ,Kerugoya town , Ngirici claimed the process was rigged and maintained she was leading and not what the IEBC had declared .
“We all shocked by the results the IEBC announced since it was not the reflection and aspirations of Kirinyaga people . We are seeking for a court action to have the results declared null and void so that our people can get a leader they had settled on ,”she claimed .
A prominent Nairobi based lawyer Ndegwa Njiru is said to have been consulted to take up the matter and file the petition.
