Mr Joakim Maragia, Kirinyaga County Azimio Coordinator

Kirinyaga County has become the  first one in Mt Kenya region  to have  an Azimio office opened in the area .

The office situated within  the vote rich Mwea Constituency  at Wanguru town is now fully operational  under  the  Azimio La Umonja One  Kenya Alliance burner .

According to the party County Coordinator Joakim Maragia  already one Dr Sammy Kagoiyo will  be the area gubernatorial candidate on an ODM ticket .

Also seeking for the County Woman Representative on the same ticked  is Hasia Ireri  while both have vowed to be at the forefront in uniting  the locals and if possible also  bring to the Azimio  all those other political parties have  betrayed.

Speaking exclusively to the Mt Times this afternoon from his Mwea office , Maragia said the office was tentatively   set to be officially opened next week .

“The intended opening  ceremony will be carried out by Azimio’s  top national leadership led by its Chairman President Uhuru Kenyatta.Party leader Raila Odinga , Kalonzo Musyoka and the Narc leader Martha Karau ,”he said.

Local Pastors Forum  leader who accompanied   the Coordinator  Pastor Evans  Kilach promised to impress upon the flock to maintain peace during the electioneering campaigns and even after .

The Priest said Christians in the area were confident Odinga  was headed to take reigns of the national leadership  , come August 9 general elections .

“As church leaders we are rallying all our faithful into preparing to vote overwhelmingly  to enable Odinga  become the Fifth president of  our great nation of Kenya ,”Kilach said.

He said unlike the past area residents have come to belief all church leaders have been telling  them not to abandon president Kenyatta as he meant well when he engaged Odinga in a handshake .

“I must remind the entire Mt Kenya region and the country at large that were it not for Uhuru and Odinga to have had the interests of Kenyans first this country would still be charaterised  with  tear gas and running battles , but thank God all this is now behind us courtesy of the handshake , the Priest asserted .

Area  residents are now up beat over the impending visit by the Azimio luminaries  and said they expected the move to  drastically reduce  the UDA wave to  Jubilee  one .
