Kalonzo ready to scale the mountain

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka  has asserted that he was ready to scale   up the  vote  rich mount  Kenya region ahead of the general elections.

Musyoka said those who were hampering the idea that the region was the preserve of certain individuals were living  in their own world.

“The mountain region is not a preserve of any individual but is open to any Kenyans wishing to seek for votes or even forge an alliance with the area leadership  for the sake of  our great nation,”he said.

Musyoka who spoke to the media moments after a courtesy call on the Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru’s Kagio town  residence this afternoon while leading a high powered delegation from his party said he has all  it take to  scale up the mountain as he  sets out for vote hunting .

The Leader  further said  it was not just a courtesy call but one loaded with ‘’ reality of our times especially those who subscribe to the One Kenya Alliance (OKA).

He told the media he would  jealously  safeguard  the interests of the region since  all Kenyans were dependent on the mountain  and from  which the name of the country was derived  from.

“When the Mzungu arrived at Machakos he spotted this mountain and asked the  then  area chief Kivoi what it was called and the administrator in his native language responded that ‘ Kiima Kiia Kitawa Kiiinyaaa’ to which the white man interpreted as Kenya .

Musyoka further said since all the water whose river sources are within the mountain flows all the way down to the Indian Ocean, those  who live downstream were beneficiaries  of the well maintained natural  resource.

“It is in that regard am ready and will always be available to protect the area ecosystem be it social, economic or political since this is the lifeline of  our people,”he noted .

Waiguru on her part said she was grateful for the visit by the leaders from the lower Eastern region  and added that  such visits should be encouraged as they were meant to foster national unity .

The governor maintained she was yet to decide on which political alliance she was set to join ‘’ but this of course  will depend  on where my people wants us to be ‘’.

Those in Musyoka’s entourage included Senators Mutula Kilonzo Jr,Enock Wambua, Agnes Kavidu  , the Kibwezi MP Jesica  Mbalu and Kitui County Woman Representative  Madan Kasalu.
