Gitau to set up rehabilitation centers in all the Sub-Counties

A Kirinyaga County gubernatorial candidate  Peter Gitau has promised to set up rehabilitation centers   in all the four area sub-counties  to cope with the rising demand for the service.

Gitau who is running on Safina ticket  asked Kenyans to understand drug addiction was just like any other ailment and as such victims should not be mistreated nor discriminated upon.

He said the county has many victims who  require  urgent rehabilitation services but their relatives could not afford since only one private  facility offers the services.

“In order  to compliment Azriel Counseling  Rehabilitation and Treatment  Center which  is located at Kimbimbi market , Mwea and only one of its kind in the county my government if elected the county boss will build  four such centers in the area sub-counties to enable as many victims as possible to access the services ,”the contender promised .

Gitau who graced  the celebrations for the Azriel  Founder  Mumbi Mwangi upon her  graduation with a Master’s Degree  in Leadership  said the four Centres would be providing services at government  rates since treatment was un affordable by most families .

Mumbi who is a career educationist said he come up with the idea of establishing the facility on realising the sufferings addicts were going through due to lack of professional services.

“I have seen it all especially some victims who are brought  tour center by armed policemen and relatives due to their high degree of violence but they sober up moments ts after our professionals start administering  the required treatment on them,”she said .

The Founder however concurred  with Gitau the services were expensive due to the intrigues there in but added that she was happy to see a University   students who had dropped from the institution heal  and resume his studies.

The said student was present with his mother and thanked Mumbi for coming up with  the facility  which is currently assisting victims from far and   wide .

Others who graced the occasion were the former Othaya MP Mary Wambui  and the local  senatorial candidate  Daniel Karaba.
