For the first time around Mt Kenya region,a Resort in the area is serving Swahili Dishes.

Havila Resort on the banks of river Sagana started serving the dishes yesterday ,a move that has attracted a big clientele.

The Resort proprietor Alexander Chege said the dishes had been introduced after a public demand .

"Our facility having been rated among the International ones has to move with the changing times hence the introduction of the popular Swahili Dishes which even the local tourists have come to be their favorite meals," the entrepreneur said.

He said the facility had recruited Chefs who are able to prepare meals according to tastes of the clientele we serve and any visitor gets whatever he or she desires.

At the same time Chege has assured all the visitors that the Resort had put all covid _ 19 protocols for the good of both the visitors and the employees .

"To ensure that out visitors and those serving at the facility were safe from contracting the deadly corona pandemic,we have put strict preventive measures by observing the guidlines the government has issued through the ministry of health," he said.

The facility is situated on the International Olympic Site for Canoeing and Kayaking .

It was declared to the statues in 2015 when it hosted the African Qualifyers  for the Rio Olympics .

The facility has attracted a wide cross section of visitors who started to throng at the resort yesterday .

The Swahili Dishes  continue to be served throughout boxing day .

Water sport lovers  have been enjoying the game   while Sagana river waters  which provide the medium for game are  more than adequate .

Water cycling,canoeing and kayaking are some of the available water sport,which make Havila a must destination when visitors come to Africa.
